Terms of Service
Effective: August 4, 2026 · Last updated: August 4, 2026
Net Billable helps freelancers estimate rates and tax set-asides and keep a local payment record. Its calculations are estimates, not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Roohan (“Roohan,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your download, access to, and use of the Net Billable mobile application and related services (collectively, “Net Billable” or the “App”). By downloading or using Net Billable, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. Net Billable is designed for freelance and business record-keeping and is not directed to children under 13.
2. License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store from which you obtained Net Billable, Roohan grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control for lawful personal or internal business purposes.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App except as applicable law expressly permits;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works of the App, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction;
- bypass subscription controls, security features, or usage limits;
- interfere with the App, its providers, or other users, or introduce malicious code;
- use Net Billable for fraud, unlawful activity, or infringement of another person’s rights; or
- misrepresent Net Billable’s estimates as professional advice or official tax calculations.
3. Estimates and professional advice
Net Billable uses simplified assumptions and tax models to estimate freelance rates, tax set-asides, payment deadlines, and related figures. Models may omit deductions, credits, elections, filing statuses, income types, contribution limits, regional or municipal taxes, treaty effects, penalties, legislative changes, and facts specific to you. Displayed tax years and rules may become outdated.
Net Billable is not an accountant, tax preparer, financial adviser, law firm, or government service. Nothing in the App is tax, accounting, financial, legal, or investment advice, and no professional or fiduciary relationship is created.
You are solely responsible for verifying calculations, maintaining adequate records, choosing an appropriate set-aside, filing returns, and paying the correct amounts on time. Consult a qualified professional and the relevant tax authority before acting on an estimate.
4. Your records and backups
You retain responsibility for the information you enter in Net Billable, including client names, payment records, rate inputs, and tax settings. Core financial records are stored locally on your device; Roohan does not operate a cloud backup or recovery service for them.
You must keep independent copies of records required for tax, accounting, contractual, or legal purposes. Deleting the App, clearing its storage, losing or replacing a device, or a device failure may permanently erase local records. More information is in our Privacy Policy.
5. Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Net Billable may offer free functionality and paid “Net Billable Pro” features. The exact features, billing period, trial (if any), price, currency, and taxes are shown in the purchase screen supplied through the Apple App Store or Google Play before you confirm a purchase.
- Billing. The applicable app store processes payment using the payment method associated with your store account. Roohan does not receive your full card or bank details.
- Automatic renewal. A recurring subscription renews for the displayed billing period unless you cancel it through your app-store subscription settings before renewal. Your store account will be charged according to the terms shown at purchase.
- Trials and promotions. If a free trial or introductory offer is displayed, it converts to a paid subscription at the stated price and time unless you cancel before the trial or offer ends. Eligibility is determined by the app store.
- Cancellation. You can manage or cancel in your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting Net Billable does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period.
- Refunds. Apple or Google handles billing disputes and refunds under its policies and applicable law. Except where the store or applicable law provides otherwise, payments are non-refundable and there are no credits for a partially used period.
- Price or feature changes. Subscription prices or included features may change. Any price change will be handled with the notice or consent required by the app store and applicable law.
- Restore. The App provides a restore-purchases function for eligible purchases associated with your app-store account.
6. Ownership
Roohan and its licensors own Net Billable, including its software, design, text, graphics, trademarks, and other content, excluding information you enter. These Terms grant a license to use the App; they do not transfer ownership or any intellectual-property rights. Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used to improve Net Billable without restriction or compensation, provided we handle personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. App stores and third-party services
Net Billable relies on third-party services for distribution, purchases, analytics, and crash diagnostics. Those services may have their own terms and privacy notices. Your use of an iOS version is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless Apple displays a different applicable license. Your use of an Android version is also subject to the applicable Google Play Terms of Service.
Apple and Google are not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Net Billable except to the extent their terms or applicable law require. Roohan, not the app store, is responsible for addressing questions about the App.
8. Availability, updates, and changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue App features to improve Net Billable, address security or legal requirements, or reflect changes in third-party services. Some updates may be required for continued use. We do not guarantee that Net Billable, a particular feature, a tax model, or compatibility with a device or operating-system version will always be available.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Net Billable is provided “as is” and “as available.” Roohan disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not warrant that any estimate, deadline, tax rule, currency display, or saved record is complete, current, or suitable for filing or decision-making.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In that case, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and you retain any mandatory consumer rights.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Roohan and its owners, personnel, affiliates, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, records, or data arising from or related to Net Billable.
In particular, Roohan is not responsible for underpayment or overpayment of tax, missed deadlines, penalties, interest, professional fees, or losses caused by reliance on an estimate, an outdated rule, loss of local data, service interruption, or your failure to verify information with a qualified professional.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Roohan’s total liability for all claims relating to Net Billable will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Net Billable during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US$25.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory rights available under local consumer law.
11. Termination
You may stop using Net Billable at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, use the App unlawfully, or create a security risk, subject to applicable law. Termination does not itself cancel an app-store subscription; you must cancel it through the relevant store. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and general provisions—will survive.
12. Changes and general terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The date above identifies the latest version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice in the App, on the page where these Terms are published, or by another appropriate method. Your continued use after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable app-store terms, and any purchase terms shown at checkout form the agreement governing Net Billable. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or transfer of Net Billable, subject to applicable law.
Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally. Applicable law and forum will be determined under the laws and mandatory consumer protections that apply to the parties and the dispute. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of rights that cannot be waived under the law where you live.
